THE DESIGNED TO SCALE® METHOD BLACK FRIDAY BUNDLE

You started your design business to do work you love.

So why are you chasing clients, second-guessing your prices, and working around the clock?

A woman is rolling up her beige sweater sleeve to reveal her forearm.Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

If you thought being an interior designer meant you’d spend your days whipping up designs for dream clients but instead you:

  • Struggle to explain your pricing or process without feeling insecure

  • Say yes to projects you instantly regret—just to fill the pipeline

  • Feel like every project is different, so you’re always starting from scratch

  • Spend more time managing clients than actually designing

  • Let clients take control—pushing boundaries, waffling in indecision, and expecting unlimited access

Then here’s the issue:

→ Your pricing makes clients think they can negotiate, so they do.

→ Your process is different for every project, so you reinvent the wheel. Every. Single. Time.

→ Your clients don’t trust your expertise, so they micromanage, second-guess, and demand more.

→ You overdeliver to prove your value, but instead of elevating your projects—you’re draining your time and profits.

The designers who get this right are charging more, booking better clients, and running their business with confidence. Where do you want to be a year from now?

This cycle will keep repeating—until you change how you run your business.

Because what got you here—overdelivering, saying yes to everything, and hoping things will magically improve—won’t get you where you want to go.

What If Your Business Lit You Up Again?

Right now, burning your business down and starting over might feel easier than fixing it.

But what if the real problem isn’t your business? It’s just the way you’ve been running it?

Imagine this instead:

Your pricing is crystal clear. No more second-guessing, discounting, or “does this number feel fair?” moments. You know exactly what to charge—and clients pay it, no questions asked.

✔ Clients trust your expertise. No more micromanaging, price-picking, or “can I see a few more options” requests. They respect your process—and actually follow it.

✔ Projects stay on track. You know how to manage your timelines, schedule your projects, and keep scope (and clients) in check.

✔ Your services attract the right clients. No more taking “just anything to fill the pipeline.” You’re booking high-end, magazine-worthy projects that actually excite you.

✔ Your business supports your life. You’re not glued to your inbox 24/7. You have the time (and energy) to actually enjoy the success you’ve built.

THIS.IS.POSSIBLE!

And it’s exactly what we help designers create inside The Designed to Scale® Method.

How much money are you losing because your process isn’t dialed in?

  • ☑️ Buyers will pay 20% or more for a seamless, polished, and predictable process.

  • ☑️ Happy clients are 5x more likely to work with you again and 4x more likely to send referrals.

A single well-served client isn’t just another project. They’re a walking, talking revenue stream.

Here’s What That Means for You:

If your process is a hot mess …

… if clients are constantly pulling teeth to get information from you …

… if you’re always two steps behind rather than seamlessly guiding your clients …

you’re not just making things harder on yourself. You’re losing money.

Refining your process isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s the difference between charging premium rates—or competing on price.

Because when your processes are dialed in, your profits go up—without working more.

Curriculum

A look inside the Designed to Scale® Method curriculum:

Based on my experience working with 100+ private clients and co-developed with an expert instructional designer and a tenured design professor, this program is built on proven strategies, not just theory or something that worked once. 🙌 AND? This counts as 14 CEUs, and you get lifetime access to all updates.

  • A business that isn’t built with intention doesn’t scale. It spins its wheels. It stays stuck. It survives, but by a thread.

Before you can charge more, streamline your workload, or start saying no to the wrong clients (while getting paid more by the right ones), you need a foundation that works for you. One that gives you clarity, direction, and control over your business.

That’s what we build in the DTS Method.

    Inside this module, you’ll:

🔹 Clarify your North Star. No more winging it. No more just seeing where things go. You’ll define exactly what your interior design business should look like—the clients, the projects, the way your workdays actually feel—and set it in motion.

🔹 Reverse-engineer your success. Big goals don’t just happen. They’re built one intentional, strategic step at a time. You’ll break yours down so you always know exactly what to focus on next.

🔹 Establish boundaries that protect your time, energy, and creativity. Because without them, you’ll be answering client texts at 9 p.m., over-delivering on projects that don’t serve you, and working twice as hard for half the return.

🔹 Design your ideal workweek. Not a generic schedule. Not a routine that works for someone else. A structure designed around you and your family (hi summer slowdowns!) so you can stay in control, get more done, and enjoy the freedom and flexibility you crave.

This isn’t about busyness. This is about stepping into the CEO role and setting your business up to scale correctly from the start.

  • The difference between a profitable design business and a stressful, underpaid one?

A strategic, high-value service menu that works for you.

No more guessing at pricing. No more offering everything and hoping something sticks. No more scope creep that turns small projects into unpaid overtime.

    Inside this module, you’ll:

🖊 Build a service menu that attracts high-value clients. You’ll design a suite of offers that align with your strengths, position you as an expert, and eliminate the "can you just..." scope creep requests.

📌 Get crystal clear on deliverables, timelines, and your ideal client. Because when your process is defined before the inquiry, you stop bending to fit every client—and start attracting the ones who respect your expertise.

💰 Price your services (and furnishings) for profit—every time. No back-of-the-napkin math. No second-guessing. No starting from zero every time. You’ll walk away with a pricing model designed to ensure every project is profitable.

🎯 Set expectations so clearly that clients don’t question them. From scope to timelines, you’ll learn how to communicate exactly what’s included, making approvals faster, projects smoother, and payments more predictable.

Because when your service structure is dialed in, selling isn’t a struggle. Clients say yes faster. Timelines stay on track. And your design business runs like a business—not an expensive hobby.

  • If you can’t sell, you don’t have a business.

Not a thriving one. Not a predictable one. Not one that grows on its own.

Selling isn’t just part of your business—it is your business. And if your process isn’t airtight, you’ll keep second-guessing your prices, stumbling through discovery calls, and wondering why dream clients disappear before signing the contract.

    That stops here.

    Inside this module, you’ll:

🖊 Run discovery calls that convert. No more “Did I say the right thing?” spirals. You’ll lead with confidence, position your expertise, and handle objections like a pro—without awkward silences or last-minute discounts.

📌 Set your capacity with intention. Overbooked? Underpaid? Burnt out? That ends now. You’ll get crystal clear on how to schedule your projects so your time, energy, and revenue are fully protected.

💰 Scope, price, and invoice with ease. No more guesswork. No more last-minute number crunching. You’ll have a seamless pricing and scoping system that earns trust, buy-in, and on time payments.

🎯 Book out your pipeline. You’ll stop chasing clients and start tracking, following up, and closing projects with ease.

Because this isn’t just about making sales. It’s about making sales effortless.

When your sales process is buttoned up, your business becomes predictable, profitable, and scalable.

  • Because a seamless onboarding process sets the tone for a smooth, successful project and instills so much trust in clients from day one.

A well-structured onboarding process isn’t just about getting paperwork signed. It’s about creating a client experience so dialed in, so effortless, that your clients feel immediately confident in their decision to hire you. In this module, you’ll:

📌 Design an onboarding process that feels high-touch and effortless. From the first “yes” to project kickoff, your clients will feel so well taken care of (which will make your life way easier).

📝 Know exactly what to send, when to send it. You’ll create a plug-and-play communication plan with welcome emails, prep materials, and key documents—so there’s no second-guessing what happens next.

🚫 Avoid the onboarding mistakes that cause delays, miscommunication, and revisions. Because no one wants to start a project already putting out fires.

💰 Master the client budget conversation. Learn how to prepare a budget with confidence (no more vague estimates), set expectations upfront, and actually stick to it—so you protect your profit margin.

Because the way a project starts determines how it flows. Nail your onboarding, and you’ll create a process that feels elevated, exciting, and professional—every single time.

  • A seamless creative process and elevated design presentation lead to happier clients, smoother projects, and fewer revisions.

Your designs are AMAZING—but if your presentation, revision process, and expectations aren’t airtight, you’ll spend way too much time fielding back-and-forth emails, reworking designs, and managing unrealistic requests. In this module, you’ll learn how to:

🎤 Present your designs with confidence and clarity. Know exactly how to walk clients through your vision so they feel excited, aligned, and ready to move forward—without hesitation.

🚦 Uncover what’s actually slowing down client decisions. Whether it’s uncertainty, overwhelm, or hidden objections, you’ll learn how to identify and eliminate delays before they derail your timeline.

📝 Master the revision process. Set clear expectations, manage changes with ease, and keep projects moving forward—so revisions don’t spiral into endless tweaks.

🚧 Avoid unrealistic client expectations. Learn how to set the tone from the start, communicate boundaries with confidence, and prevent the “just one more change” cycle before it starts.

Because when you nail this phase, your designs will get approved faster, revisions will go way down, and projects will move forward exactly the way they should.

  • Because a well-managed project means fewer surprises, happier clients, and a seamless install day.

A beautiful design is just the beginning—execution is everything. Without a strong project management system, timelines stretch, vendors drop the ball, and you end up fixing problems that aren’t yours to handle. In this module, you’ll:

🖥 Choose the right design management software for your business. Because the right tools save you time, streamline communication, and keep your projects organized (instead of scattered across emails and sticky notes).

📌 Find, build, and track vendor relationships with ease. Learn how to source reliable vendors, create long-term partnerships, and keep everything running smoothly—so you’re never scrambling for a last-minute solution.

🚧 Know what is (and isn’t) your responsibility during construction. So you’re not micromanaging contractors, dealing with issues outside your scope, or spending unpaid hours fixing other people’s mistakes.

💰 Structure your pricing to cover all the post-design work. Learn exactly how to charge for your time during procurement, construction, and final install—so you’re not giving away project management services for free.

📦 Ensure installation day is smooth, seamless, and stress-free. With the right prep, schedule, and vendor coordination, you’ll create a process that makes every install feel effortless.

Because designing is only like 10% of the job—the real magic happens in the execution. When your project management is dialed in, you stay in control, your clients stay happy, and your installs go off without a hitch.

  • Because the way a project ends is just as important as how it begins. Don’t let your projects fizzle out at the end.

A smooth offboarding process doesn’t just wrap up a project - it sets the stage for glowing testimonials, repeat business, and referrals that bring in more dream clients. In this module, you’ll:

✅ Follow a step-by-step offboarding process. Know exactly how to wrap up a project the right way—without missing key details or making common mistakes that can leave clients feeling unsure about the final steps.

📝 Ask for testimonials and referrals without feeling awkward. You’ll learn how to naturally and confidently request feedback that turns into powerful marketing assets—without sounding pushy.

📊 Review and analyze your project’s performance. Learn how to evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and how to refine your process for even smoother, more profitable projects moving forward.

Offboarding isn’t just about tying up loose ends. It’s about creating an experience so seamless that clients can’t wait to work with you again and send their friends your way.

  • Sorry to say, but posting randomly on Instagram isn’t a marketing strategy.

And I’m not saying that because I think you should post more or start filming Reels. Nope.

A solid marketing strategy is about showing up with purpose, saying the right things, and building visibility with the people who already want what you do best.

In this module, we’ll simplify how you show up and make it work for you while you sleep (FTW):

✅ Choose your platforms with purpose.
No more chasing trends or burning out on content. You’ll pinpoint the marketing channels that actually bring good inquiries and say BYEEEE to the rest.

🔍 Make SEO your silent sales partner.
You’ll learn that SEO isn’t some complicated, hire-a-$15K-expert situation. In less than 10 minutes, you can fix yours so you actually show up when dream clients are searching for you.

💡 Define what sets you apart.
We’ll help you clarify your unique selling proposition so you don’t get lost in the sea of sameness … or beat out by a newbie designer with an AI portfolio and zero real experience. 🫠🫠🫠

➕ These aren't ideas that “felt cute”. They're the exact tools and frameworks my successful clients use to streamline their businesses, charge premium rates, and build businesses that support their lives—not consume them.

Don’t just take
my word for it:

Working with Katie and DDC has been transformational. It's incredible to look back and see the growth our firm has had. We literally had no formal procedures before and were constantly ‘reinventing the wheel’ time and time again (which is exhausting and so inefficient!).

The structure and consistency this program has provided for [us] and our clients have transformed the business. The material is professional, validating, and has given us confidence to take on the right projects and grow the business in the direction we have always wanted. It's been a huge blessing to have this level of support.

The peace-of-mind and confidence your program has provided is incredible—literally life-changing. Thank you!

Tara, DTS Method Graduate

Katie, Gloria and the DTS team were incredible. They offered so much insight, care, and personal feedback about my company and brand. Investing in DTS brought value and insight into my business that I would not have had otherwise. I definitely recommend the program to any designer who is looking for ways to improve their business and get relevant and actionable critiques to do so!

I can’t tell you how pivotal this program has been for me. I’ve been drinking from the firehose for years and never knew HOW to form systems for success, but NOW I DO!

You have changed my life and my business. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Aimee, dts method graduate

For years I've been disillusioned by the decade plus of feast and famine I've endured running my studio solo; a string of bad-fit clients taken out of necessity but with whom I ultimately parted ways prior to project completion; apprehensions regarding my business's foundation due to ignorance and overwhelm; a seeming impossibility of obtaining new work that is both profitable and fulfilling; and a general hopelessness about the longevity of my business due to this cyclical confluence of events.

Now, I am excited about the future of my studio and with each new lesson I am inspired, empowered and, frankly, relieved to firm my footing, boost my confidence and surmount any obstacle to growth, professional fulfillment and financial security.

Marc, DTS METHOD GRADUATE

What’s the Real Cost of a Bad Client Process?

Right now, you’re losing money—and it’s not just about revenue.

❌ Underpricing? That’s thousands $$$ left on the table every project.
❌ Bad-fit clients? They drain your time, push boundaries, and never go all in on your designs.
❌ Messy processes? They cost you referrals, repeat business, and
so.much.time.

But what if instead of running on fumes, you were running a business that actually worked for you?

✔ Confidently quoting and closing dream projects—no second-guessing.
✔ Working with clients who respect your expertise—no micromanaging.
✔ Running a business that supports your life—not the other way around.

That first project you land “the Katie way” (as our clients call it) after raising your rates?

That’s your tuition right there.

Let’s talk investment.

I want to thank you so much for the Designed to Scale Method course! Honestly, I got SO much out of it.

The help and insight I got on pricing alone changed a lot for me. I was absolutely undercharging (by a lot) and right into your course I learned that I needed to DOUBLE my price, and that didn’t even get me up to what the average rates were that you guys talked about. But, I doubled right away on a project I was proposing and got it, and I’ve been slowly increasing since then.

Most importantly, I really learned how to create my process and timelines and the flow of the project.

I’m actually able to forecast my schedule now and provide a really nice experience for my clients! We just went to contract on a larger kitchen remodel project (over $250K), and I really believe using your templates and the design process you helped create elevated our business in our clients' eyes and they could see the value in working with us on the construction phase.

I can’t believe I was even nervous to spend the money on the class—it’s the best thing I’ve done for my business so far, so THANK YOU!!

When I was deciding to do the program, it was the testimonials that pushed me to sign up. I was blown away how many of them said how their business transformed after the program.

I definitely had some doubts, but am happy to say that the same happened for me!

After finishing the program, I secured two of my largest contracts to date and felt so confident throughout the proposal process, knowing my worth and what types of clients I want to work with.

I can't thank you and your team enough for offering this amazing program and I've been telling all of my designer friends about it.

Thank you so much for everything!!

I have looked into other programs for over 2 years, but something always made me hold back. With your program, it felt more genuine, and not so pushy.

You provided the framework without imposing a ‘one size fits all’ approach—which I truly appreciated.

It allowed me to design my business in a way that felt authentic to me, and not like every other designer.

Hands down, this was the best investment in my business to date. Thank you, thank you, thank you

What sets this experience apart is Katie herself. She is not just an instructor; she feels like a friend. Her relatability and genuine care for each participant create a supportive environment where everyone thrives. The amount of energy and attention she dedicates to each individual is truly remarkable!

Investing in myself, my business, and my clients by completing this program was one of the best decisions I've made.

who’s behind the designed to scale® method?

Meet Katie

A woman with blonde hair sitting on a clear chair, wearing a beige dress, smiling and resting her chin on her hand.Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

I’m Katie, and I’ve been helping interior designers build businesses that are profitable, sustainable, and client-focused since 2017.

I’ve worked alongside 350+ designers at every stage—from brand-new to scaling to seasoned. And I’ve seen the same roadblocks over and over again:

🚧 Unclear pricing that leaves money on the table.
🚧 Chaotic processes that let clients run the show.
🚧 Boundaries so blurred, you’re basically on-call.

So I built a repeatable framework that changes all of that.

Inside The Designed to Scale® Method, I give you the exact strategies that have helped interior designers reclaim their time, raise their rates with confidence, and build businesses they actually love running.

And, I’m doing it with a tenured design school professor - we actually DO KNOW what’s taught in design school.

Meet Gloria—Your Industry Insider

A smiling woman with short, wavy brown hair wearing a light denim button-up shirt against a plain gray background. Gloria Stafford. Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

Gloria is a long-time practicing interior designer, college professor, and industry expert with a rare blend of real-world design experience and academic insight.

She’s spent years training hundreds of design students in both residential and commercial design at three different universities. There’s nothing she hasn’t seen.

Oh, and did I mention she holds a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from SCAD (aka the Ivy League of design) and a Ph.D.?

Translation: She 👏 Knows 👏 Her 👏 Stuff.

Gloria has been the behind-the-scenes brainpower behind many of our educational resources. And in The Designed to Scale® Method, she’s stepping into the spotlight—helping you refine your design business and presentations with expert-level precision.

  • Here's What One Student Said About The Support

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm so honoured by your kind words and feel very encouraged by your compliments.

It was so helpful to have another designer [Gloria from your team] look at my presentation and make comments. I think it will make it so much easier for my future clients to understand how to get from design to implementation.

Thank you again for your feedback! I really appreciate the time you took to watch, listen and comment.

  • Here's What Lisa Said About Group Learning

Only 2 weeks in here but I am so impressed and happy with the DTS investment. I was cautious as I am really not the best with group/ virtual learning but I am so in awe of how you make lessons work for every learning style. I truly look forward to class and feel like I am digesting information. Thank you!

  • Here's What One Student Said About the Templates & Resources Included in DTS

“ALL of the documents, checklists, excel spreadsheets! It is a treasure trove of information.

After the program and after getting all my processes set up in Asana, I use every single one and reference them all the time.

To have the templates already created is an absolute game changer and time saver.”

  • See How This Designer Compared The DTS Method to Other Programs

I have done lots of coaching and programs over the years, and by far, Dakota [and The DTS Method] has blown them all away.

You get right to the good stuff with the support behind it. If you do the work, there is no way you won’t change your business growth and mindset.

  • See What Malinda Says Sets DTS Method Apart from Other Programs

What sets this experience apart is Katie herself. She is not just an instructor; she feels like a friend. Her relatability and genuine care for each participant create a supportive environment where everyone thrives.

  • Here's What One Student Said About the Investment

“I loved this program & it was the best money I've spent so far on my business.

I now have set pricing and services; I now have processes set up that, once I hire someone, they will be able to work from, which makes me feel like I'm set up for growth.

If you are looking for a roadmap on how to run your interior design business, this is it. Katie & her team lay out every process and best practice so you can give your clients the best possible experience working with you, leaving more time to design.”

We created this program because we know what’s possible for you.

I’ve seen these methods work firsthand with my former 1:1 clients and students. With the right pricing, services, and boundaries:

✔ You can stop working with bad-fit clients

✔ You can raise your rates without fear.

✔ You can build a profitable business without running yourself into the ground.

AND WE’LL SHOW YOU EXACTLY HOW TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.

👉 Ready to build a business that works for you? Let’s do it.
Who's This For

The Designed to Scale® Method is for you if...

→ You’re side hustling…

You want to turn your side hustle into a real business—but you’re stuck figuring out how to price your work, attract great clients, and stand out in an industry full of more experienced designers.

→ You’re a few years in…

You’ve built your business—but instead of feeling like the CEO, you feel like you’re just taking orders and putting out fires. Clients dictate the process, you’re insecure about your pricing, and you don’t know what you don’t know.

→ You’re a seasoned pro…

Your design business is successful, but you’ve hit a revenue ceiling. You (and your team) are overworked, underpaid, and stretched too thin. You’re not looking for more work—you’re looking for better work, more clarity, and a business model that scales without burning you out.

This program is not for you if:

A woman in black clothing reaching across a white desk in a minimalist room with beige walls and a beige chair.Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

  • ✖️ You’re looking for a magic bullet. This isn’t a “quick fix”—it’s a proven system that requires action.

  • ✖️ You resist feedback and aren’t open to refining your process. Growth requires change. If you’re unwilling to adjust, this won’t work for you.

  • ✖️ You’d rather say “yes” to every client than set boundaries. If you’re not ready to prioritize the right clients over just any clients, now’s not your time.

  • ✖️ You thrive in chaos and prefer to “wing it.” If you love reinventing the wheel for every project, you won’t enjoy streamlining your process.

  • ✖️ You’re planning to overhaul your branding and website mid-program. A full rebrand takes time and focus—time you’ll need to implement the strategies inside this program. Plus, your website and branding should come after you’ve refined your services, pricing, and ideal clients—which is exactly what we help you do in The Designed to Scale® Method.

  • ✖️ You’re not ready to take ownership of your success. This program gives you the tools, but you have to implement them. No action = no results.

  • ✖️ You haven’t worked with any clients yet and don’t have a business website or resale license.

  • ✖️ You’re a business coach who wants to learn how to help interior designers with their businesses and wants to teach them my frameworks.

FAQs

FAQs

If you’re still thinking “What the FAQ?”, let’s get those questions answered.

  • Each week will vary based on the implementation task and if you’ve opted into the small group cohort, but we recommend setting aside 2-4 hours per week.

We know you’re busy, so we’ve refined each aspect of this program to accommodate your busy schedule.

Weekly lessons will be roughly 60 minutes, and you have the option to watch a video recording, listen to an audio recording, or read the text of the lesson yourself.

Happy Hours are bi-monthly. These group calls are 1-1.5 hours long and take place every other Wednesday. You’ll pre-submit your question in advance for each call, so if you can’t show up live, you’ll receive a time-stamped replay with our response to your question. Quickly skim through the questions and find what you need.

Weekly Workload will depend on what you have in place. The necessary weekly time commitment on your part is difficult to estimate. It depends on the level and quality of business processes you currently have in place. Newer business owners may find they need to dedicate more time to weekly implementation activities.

To be honest, you don’t really have time to not invest in your client experience. The longer you put it off, the more trouble you’ll get yourself into by working with less than ideal clients in a way that feels out of control because you have no process.

  • You’ll have access to the Dakota Design Company team and Katie during bi-monthly Happy Hour calls. You’ll have access to the DDC team every week in the private community.

If you show up to the Happy Hours, you’ll get answers to your questions and depending on how many designers attend each session, you may have more time to ask additional questions. You’ll be able to submit your questions anonymously so Katie can answer them during Happy Hour group calls.

However, 1:1 private email support and 1:1 private calls with Katie are not included in the program.

  • Where do I start!!??

    This isn’t a course or do-it-yourself program. It’s my tried-and-true proprietary framework I’ve used with over 100+ 1:1 clients and 250+ alumni.

I also hired an instructional designer to make the lessons digestible and easy to implement. And, Gloria from my team is a certified interior designer AND tenured interior design professor who teaches interior design at the college level and she puts her red pen to e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g we put out there for designers.

We pulled out all the stops!

You’ll have access to my systems team to ask questions your software questions and you’ll have access to Gloria, our in house professor and trained interior designer, in the private community.

We also go beyond full service design and discuss structuring, pricing, and creating processes for all services typically offered by designers so you can create an offer portfolio to meet the needs of several client types.

  • A curated collection of templates and resources will drop with each lesson.

A majority of the SOPs, tools, and calculators from the Business Blueprint are included, plus additional DTS Method specific ones. The following templates are included in the program:

  • Yes, completion of this course can count toward CEU requirements for renewing your state's Certified Interior Designer or Registered Interior Designer status or fulfilling your NCIDQ certificate renewal.

At the end of this program, we will provide a Certificate of Completion for 14 hours of structured study coursework (one hour per weekly instruction, although your time investment will likely be greater).

As the program content focuses strongly on the client experience and the delivery of skilled professional services, it fulfills the requirements for health, safety, and welfare (HSW) subject matter.

  • We’re no longer offering 1:1 implementation services, and if/when we do in the future, only DTS grads will have access.

That means graduating from The Designed to Scale® Method is the only way to:

✔ Get priority access to any future 1:1 opportunities.
✔ Be invited into our membership, The Studio.
✔ Book private consulting calls with Katie.

If you're serious about streamlining your business, raising your rates, and attracting better clients, DTS is your next step.

Waiting for a 1:1 opening that may never come? Not the move.

  • This is a fourteen-week online program with hands-on guidance and support from me, my in-house certified interior designer and tenured professor, and my team.

I know you are busy and need flexibility.

The program is broken into four phases and lessons drop for each phase on Mondays so you can go through them as your schedule allows.

Phase 01: Design an Aligned Business

Phase 02: Service Design + Pricing

    Phase 03: Client Experience Process

    Phase 04: Implementation

The lessons can be watched, listened to, or read, however and whenever you learn best.

Each week will build on the last, so we expect you to listen to each weekly lesson and complete your weekly implementation activity by the end of the week so you stay on track.

  • This program is geared toward designers with experience working with clients and selling their services.

If you are brand new to the interior design industry, haven’t launched your business, and haven’t yet worked with clients, we recommend first checking out our Design Business Foundations program.

Please email gloria@dakotadesigncompany.com to find out which program we recommend for you.

  • I fully believe in the power of this program (I’ve done this 1:1 with over 100 designers and in the group format with 240+ students). However, if we mutually agree before the program start date that the program is not a good fit, we will provide a refund less a $350 administrative fee.

We also offer a conditional money back guarantee. In order to be considered, you must watch all lessons, attend all Happy hour calls, submit questions for calls, show proof of work performed and your best efforts to achieve results. Upon determining that a refund will be given, we will notify our payment processor to issue the refund, less a $350 administrative fee and $2500 template fee.

If you don’t watch the lessons, join the Happy Hour calls and ask questions, or implement the tools and templates into your business, your request for a refund will not be considered.

See the program terms and conditions here.

  • IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE BUSINESS BLUEPRINT SOPS, WE WILL APPLY THAT PURCHASE TO YOUR ENROLLMENT FEES. PLEASE EMAIL SUPPORT@DAKOTADESIGNCOMPANY.COM FOR ASSISTANCE.

If you’ve purchased the client experience email templates, contract templates, welcome guide, or investment guide, please email our team to determine if you are eligible for additional savings.

  • Yes! If you have a business partner/co-founder or an operations manager who is a W2’d employee, they can join at no additional cost. Once you enroll, simply let us know and we’ll provide them with access to both the curriculum and the community, so they can learn alongside you and help implement everything effectively in your business.

  • The program starts on February 9th, 2026 and runs for 14 weeks.

Lessons for each phase of the program will be available on demand. Weekly Implementation Activities should be completed by each Sunday.

Group Consulting Calls will take place every other Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm central time.

There are fourteen weeks of curriculum and support.

You Could Try to Figure This Out on Your Own … But At What Cost?

💸 Lost Revenue: You think you're charging enough because some people say yes. But are you? Without a pricing strategy, you have no clue how much money you're leaving on the table. Could be hundreds. Could be thousands. And the worst part? You won’t even know until it’s too late.

⏳ Wasted Hours on Non-Essential Work: You’re not just working hard—you’re working extra hard on things that don’t actually matter. The extra options. The extra tweaks. The extra time spent making things "perfect" when your client would’ve been thrilled five hours ago.

🚩 Bad-Fit Clients: The ones who haggle. The ones who ghost. The ones who text at 9 p.m. because they "just saw something cute on Instagram." When you don’t have a clear process, you attract clients who walk all over you.

🔥 Burnout & Overwhelm: Projects stretch on forever. Clients ignore timelines. Your inbox? A black hole of "quick questions" that steal your whitespace and family time. And the kicker? You did this to yourself.

So yeah, you could keep trying to DIY this—scouring YouTube, hoarding free PDFs, stitching together advice from a hundred different places, changing things every 3 days.

Person holding an open book with text on the page, standing near a white wall and a plant.Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

Or, you can join The Designed to Scale® Method and get everything in one place.

Miss this round, and you’ll end paying more when we open regular enrollment in January, or worse, you’ll be too busy with bad-fit projects to have time to enroll. Meanwhile other designers are:

✔ Raising their rates without second-guessing.
✔ Booking premium clients with ease.
✔ Running a business that lights them up.

And you? You’ll still be:

❌ Wondering if you’re charging too much—or not enough.
❌ Drowning in emails and “quick changes” that steal your time.
❌ Saying yes to red-flag clients because you need the project.

Another year of that? No thanks.

You deserve a profitable, sustainable, fulfilling design business—one that makes you so proud.

"Worth Every Penny! I learned that so many of us suffer from imposter syndrome, not just me and I am not alone. Through the program, I am finally able to let that go. I have done the work, put in the time, have learned the lessons both as a practicing professional and through DTS, not to mention my prior career and life experience. My clarity and confidence has never been higher to which I am grateful. The program gave me the framework I very much needed to put my processes in order for the best client experience AND organize my work flow so I feel more calm and in control."

“I loved the Heartbeat community and the small group cohorts. The designers in our cohort were so personable and helpful and I really loved all the questions and feedback that people posted. Another really wonderful surprise was how much I enjoyed the video lessons. I found the content relevant and Katie's presentation technique engaging.

Having both the PDF lessons and the videos was the perfect combination for me to follow along and get the most out of each lesson. I also loved the Happy Hour sessions. I didn't always remember to submit questions ahead of time, so I was really grateful to the designers who did and for the opportunity to discuss and ask follow-up questions to their questions.”

clarity that the part of the work I like the most is managing the project/process, so outsourcing as much of the small stuff that I can
