🗓 LIVE TRAINING MAY 20th 12:30-3:00 PM CT 🗓

You Designed a Beautiful Room. Now Your Client Wants to Change Everything.

Learn how to confidently present your designs, get fewer revisions, and spend less time prepping.

Yes: client experience, sales calls, pricing, revisions, the final reveal … they all matter.

But there’s one critical piece that almost no one in the industry is talking about.

👉 We teach it in our signature program, The DTS Method, and we’ll teach it here too. Because if you miss this one thing, it doesn’t matter how talented you are, where you’ve been published, or who you studied under.

  • Your business will hit a wall.

  • You’ll find yourself in a downward spiral of designing all the time, but never being able to photograph anything because no one moves forward with the design.

  • OR, your clients will request SO many changes that the final result isn’t even something you want your name tied to.

No One Else is Teaching This and it’s SO necessary.

Not prioritizing this single most important part of the process can cause issues like:

✖️ Endless revisions that eat your time, energy, and sanity 🫠

✖️ Unapproved designs that stall timelines, kill sales, and back up your pipeline

✖️ Clients going rogue, ordering things on their own and creating chaos

✖️ Nothing to photograph … which means no new work or social proof to show off or sell from

✖️ Clients who feel let down and leave without referring you (ouch)

What part of the process is so important that if you don't get it right, your biz could

be leaving 80% of its revenue on the table every.single.time you get it wrong?

YOUR DESIGN PRESENTATION

A woman with long hair in black clothing.Katie McFarlan Dakota Design Company Best Client Process Templates for Interior Designers

How you present your ideas matters just as much as the ideas themselves.

Because if your client can’t see the vision clearly, they won’t approve it.

An elevated design presentation should:

  • Reinforce your value. Show clients exactly why your pricing is worth it.

  • Feel like mind-reading. Clients say, “This feels like it fell out of my brain. Let’s do it.”

  • Speed up approvals. Clients are ready to approve and order on the spot.

If getting your client to say “YES” feels harder than it should …

you’re not alone.

We’ve worked with hundreds of interior designers who are:

  • Over-explaining every decision, trying to justify their designs

  • Drained by indecision and endless rounds of changes

  • Seeing clients stall, question the vision, or lose excitement

It’s exhausting, and it chips away at your confidence and your bottom line.

That’s exactly why we created this training.

Because our mission is simple:

Put more money and confidence into the
hands of interior designers, a predominantly female industry.

And this training is just one part of it.

THAT’S WHY WE’RE EXCITED TO INTRODUCE THE…

In this 2-ish hour live training, you’ll learn design presentation best practices so you can present your designs in an elevated and professional way with confidence and clarity, getting to YES every time.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  • What to include and NOT include in your presentation materials

  • How to organize your presentation pages and ideas

  • How to properly present floor plans, elevations and renderings (and the simple adjustment most designers don't make)

  • How to showcase products in design boards so clients can absolutely envision the design (even if you don’t provide 3D renderings)

  • How to get fewer revisions and higher approval/purchase rates

  • How to stop touching things 101 times so you can be more profitable

  • How to leave design presentation with the only next steps being either: do you have a change or two you’d like to see, OR, here’s how to approve and submit payment.

Not only will we teach you how to make your clients’ experience more elevated and professional, but you’ll also learn how to shave hours off your design presentation process AND increase conversion rates (meaning, more approvals, more purchases).

Regardless of what design software programs you use, these sound principles apply to creating high-quality, impactful, and compelling presentations to fully communicate your design intent to the client.

The fact this isn’t being taught at this level is crazybecause if clients don’t approve and buy your designs, you’ve got no money in the bank and nothing to show for all that time and energy.

And, if your clients don’t get a design they love (or they get a design that leaves them feeling overwhelmed and confused … and thinking, I paid $XX,XXX for THIS??!!), you can say byeeee to referrals and five star reviews, which are the LIFE of most design businesses.

Join Katie, operations consultant for interior designers, and Gloria, the DDC in-house certified interior designer and tenured design professor, on 5/20/2026 to learn how to elevate your design presentations, shave HOURS off your presentation prep process, and get your clients to say YES.

“I just attended your Design Presentation pop up training.  I just wanted to say thank you so much.  It was so helpful and I had so many take-aways.  Thank you so much for the things you said and also for answering the questions in the chat. I have been contemplating doing your DTS Method and this pop training has helped solidify my decision - yes!!  It was great to see how you interact, teach, answer questions, etc to show that the investment of the DTS Method would be so worthwhile for me. ”

LINDSAY, DESIGN PRESENTATION TRAINING ATTENDEE

But if you’re like, “Katie, I know how to present my designs. I get very few revisions. Everything is good.”, then ask yourself this:

  • Are your presentation materials aligned with the rates you’re charging? Because we’ve seen designers who charge premium fees use underwhelming materials, and others who charge far too little for the level of work they’re delivering.

  • Are you confident your presentations are clear, strategic, and refined? Or are you unknowingly overwhelming clients with too many slides and pages of filler content that muddy the message?

I’ll say it again: We’ve seen presentation templates being sold that should be LEGIT outlawed; they’re bloated, confusing, and costing designers time, energy, and client trust.

  • Are you doing more work than necessary for your conceptual presentations? Over-prepping, over-explaining, and trying to prove your value (and design decisions) with volume instead of best practices?

  • Are your presentations actively building trust, speeding up decision-making, and increasing approvals? Or are they giving clients too much room to pick apart individual pieces, instead of seeing the cohesive vision you’ve created?

  • Are your clients walking away with clarity and confidence and a room that’s been ordered, or with more questions?

And if you answer those questions and are like, “Shoot…maybe there IS an opportunity to elevate my designs and streamline this integral part of my business … ” then join us for this training!

LIVE TRAINING 05/20/2026 12:30-3:00 CENTRAL TIME

Ready to elevate your design

presentations and get your

clients to say YES in a much

more streamlined and polished way?

WHAT THE FAQ?

  • Yes, the replay will be sent out to all purchasers following the live workshop. You’ll be able to access it via our course platform with your own private username and password.

You’ll have lifetime access to the replay.

  • No. This will always be a live training because we will be showcasing designer-submitted presentations during the live training and are only sharing them with live participants and registered attendees.

We encourage you to sign up for this training live so you can catch the replay.

  • We love that you’re committed to supporting designers but this training is reserved for practicing interior designers only.

We’ve had coaches/strategists join in the past and then repurpose and sell our content as their own, which compromises the integrity of our work and the trust we’ve built with our community (and of course violates many intellectual property laws).

If you’re a coach or consultant and interested in learning more about our methods, we’re happy to discuss licensing or partnership opportunities. Email katie@dakotadesigncompany.com for details.

  • No, this training is not limited to a specific type of software, and will instead focus on the components and delivery of a successful, high converting design presentation from both a technical standpoint and a buyer psychology standpoint.

  • Yes. Absolutely. In the case of virtual design, the design presentation materials are arguably MORE important because you aren’t there in person with physical samples to further explain the design intent.

  • Designers at all stages will greatly benefit from this training.

So whether you’re on your way to your first $100k or scaling past multiple millions a year in revenue, this is for you.

And tbh, there are a lot of designer-turned-coaches selling presentation templates based on what worked in one business model.

We’ve seen some of those templates come through our clients’ firms, and honestly? They’re not aligned with best technical practices OR an elevated client experience.

They’re bloated, confusing, and not what luxury clients expect or are willing to pay premium prices for. 🤷‍♀️.
